“We grabbed a bag of cherries a few weeks ago not realizing that one bag was $11.50!! The kids enjoyed them. But we won’t be buying them again anytime soon.” —u/Any_Monitor5224 “Yes!! Twelve-packs used to be $3–$5. Now they’re an average of $6–$8.” —u/tobania “I don’t regularly buy bacon, but i bought some for my mother’s birthday to make her brunch. Bacon for three was over $12. It cost about as much as the rest of the brunch combined.” —u/Amazingawesomator “I’ve cut back on produce and salad mix. It doesn’t last like it used to, and I’ve had to toss it too often to justify the price. We’ll get enough produce for dinner on shopping day, but that’s about it. Sometimes even then, half the salad mix is bad.” —u/th3mo0n “Yes! Same situation for me tonight at Costco. A bag of potatoes was $15.99. I literally gasped out loud.” —u/photoblink “I’m in the Midwest. I’m used to paying 10 cents an ear when it is in season, but it seems as if there was no corn season this year. Ears are like $1 each — more if we get the precut option.” —u/msomnipotent “Same. I still eat meat, but it went from three or four times a week to one meal a week that is either fish or meat. I tend to save it for any meals out and do more beans, mushrooms, and eggs for home dinners.” —u/cflatjazz
